First Three Dungeons — Gear Check, Boss Mechanics & Loot Tables
The Rust Cavern, Forgotten Facility, and Cryo Vault are your first dungeons. Full walkthrough including boss patterns, recommended gear, and loot odds.
Dungeon Progression Path
Dungeons unlock in sequence. Each requires gear from the previous:
1. Rust Cavern — Entry Level
Recommended Gear: Stone armor, iron sword (18+ damage), 3 healing salves Time Limit: None (mobs don't respawn) Difficulty: Easy
Dungeon Map
The Rust Cavern is a linear tunnel with two large chambers and a final boss room.
Entrance → Guard Room → Main Cavern → Narrow Passage → Boss Chamber → Exit (shortcut back)

Boss: The Corroded Core
HP: 350 | Damage: 15 (melee), 8 (AoE pulse)
Phase 1 (100%-60% HP):
- Slow melee swings (easy to dodge)
- Every 4th hit releases an AoE pulse — back away
- Strategy: hit 3 times, dodge backward, repeat
Phase 2 (60%-0% HP):
- Gains charge attack (telegraphed by 2s glow)
- Spawns 2 Rust Mites on each pulse
- Strategy: kill mites first, then resume DPS
(mites explode after boss death, dealing 20 damage)
TIP: The Corroded Core's AoE pulse has a visual indicator — the ground cracks in a 3-tile radius. The moment you see cracks, press dodge. Frame-perfect dodge nullifies all damage.

2. Forgotten Facility — Intermediate
Recommended Gear: Iron armor, iron sword (22+), Circuit Board, 8+ healing salves Time Limit: 12 minutes (oxygen timer)
Atmosphere Hazard
The Forgotten Facility has no breathable atmosphere. You must craft an Oxygen Pack (unlocked by Circuit Board from Rust Cavern) before entering.
Oxygen Pack stats:
- Duration: 15 minutes (in-game)
- Degrades 25% faster while sprinting
- Refill station at dungeon checkpoint (midway)
Without Oxygen Pack: 60s until suffocation starts
Suffocation damage: 5 HP every 3 seconds

DANGER: Data Leeches are invisible and make no sound. Watch for your HP bar dropping — that's the only warning. Equip a Thermal Visor (crafted from Rusted Key loot) to see them.
Boss: Security Mainframe
HP: 600 | Damage: Varies by phase
Phase 1 (100%-50%):
- 3 Security Drones active (re-spawn if killed)
- Mainframe fires laser grid (1-shot at close range)
- Strategy: use the pillars as cover, pick off drones first
Phase 2 (50%-0%):
- Drones stop spawning
- Mainframe overheats — vacates floor tiles in sequence
- Floor tiles glow red 2s before becoming lava
- Strategy: keep moving, never stand still for more than 3s
This is a DPS race — the entire floor becomes lava after 60s

3. Cryo Vault — Advanced
Recommended Gear: Full iron+ gear, Battery Tech, 12+ advanced medkits, cold resistance potion ×2 Time Limit: 15 minutes (hypothermia timer)
Temperature Mechanics
The Cryo Vault is kept at -50°C. Without protection:
No protection: -5 HP every 2 seconds (death in ~30s)
Cold Potion: -5 HP every 10 seconds (2.5 min survival)
Heated Armor: No damage (requires Battery Tech)
WARN: The Cold Resistance Potion recipe requires Frost Lichen, found only on the north face of the mountain near the dungeon entrance. Gather at least 10 before attempting the vault. Each potion needs 3 Lichen.
Boss: Frost Walker
HP: 1200 | Damage: 30 (melee), 15 (ice shard ranged)
Phase 1 (100%-70%):
- Slow, telegraphed swings
- Occasional ice shard volley (3 projectiles)
- Strategy: learn the shard dodge timing — they fire at fixed intervals
Phase 2 (70%-30%):
- Speed increased by 40%
- Summons ice pillars that explode after 5s
- Ice pillars block movement — positional trap
- Strategy: destroy pillars ASAP with ranged weapon
Phase 3 (30%-0%):
- Enrages — double damage, half attack cooldown
- Floor becomes slippery (movement control = hard)
- Strategy: kite in a circle pattern. Do not stop moving.
Use the pillars from Phase 2 as shields against ice shards.

General Dungeon Tips
- Mob respawns: Only bosses do not respawn. Regular mobs return after 10 minutes.
- Multiplayer scaling: Each additional player adds +40% boss HP and +1 extra mob per group.
- Death inside dungeon: You respawn outside the entrance. Run back to recover your bag.
- Hidden caches: Look for slightly different colored wall tiles — they conceal loot rooms.
TIP: All three dungeons have a shortcut exit that opens after defeating the boss. Use it instead of walking back through cleared rooms. The shortcut is always marked with a green glow on the wall near the boss arena.
